Leigh Academy Strood – Pupil Leadership Team
The Pupil Leadership Team comprises one KS3 and KS4 representative from each college and two representatives from Atlas College (Sixth Form). The team meets weekly and ensures that pupil voice is heard, valued, and acted upon.
What We Do
Pupil Leadership Team members meet regularly to discuss ideas, share concerns from their peers, and feed these directly to the Senior Leadership Team. They help shape school life and ensure that pupil opinions are respected and taken seriously.
Pupil Leadership Team representatives also play a visible role in school life, supporting events and initiatives that make the academy a positive and inclusive environment.
Why We Are Part of the Pupil Leadership Team
Pupils join the Pupil Leadership Team because they want to represent their college, contribute to a supportive school culture, and ensure that pupil’s ideas and concerns are heard by school leadership. Our leaders want to make a positive difference.
Pupil Leadership in Action
PLT members actively support and lead across the academy by:
- Introducing assemblies
- Representing the academy at events, for example, Open Evenings.
- Leading anti-bullying initiatives: trained as Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and running drop-in sessions for students who need support or someone to talk to
- Supporting whole-school events, such as the Remembrance Service and Cultural Fashion Show
Get Involved
The Pupil Leadership Team is run by pupils, for pupils. If you have an idea, concern, or suggestion, please speak with your Pupil Leadership Team members to help shape the future of Leigh Academy Strood.
