Celebrating Our Heritage: The Leigh Academy Strood Cultural Fashion Show
At Leigh Academy Strood, we take immense pride in being an IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) World School. A core part of our mission is to develop internationally-minded young people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet.
To celebrate the incredible diversity of our community, which includes students and staff born in 48 different countries, we are delighted to announce our upcoming Cultural Fashion Show on Wednesday 21st January.
This event is a dedicated opportunity for us to honor the rich tapestry of backgrounds that make our academy unique.
Event Schedule & Details
The day has been structured to allow participants to showcase their heritage with pride:
- Arrival: Students and staff taking part are encouraged to bring their national dress into the academy in a secure bag.
- Morning Rehearsals: Participants will spend time during the morning session rehearsing their roles and preparing for the showcase.
- The Main Event: Participants will change into their traditional attire just before lunchtime for our grand Cultural Fashion Show.
- After the Show: Students taking part in the show are welcome to remain in their national dress for the remainder of the school day.
Spectators and Charity
We want as many students as possible to enjoy this celebration of culture. Students who wish to watch the performance are asked to make a small contribution of 50p.
All proceeds collected from spectators will go directly toward our academy charities, helping us support important causes while we celebrate our own community.

We are very much looking forward to seeing the vibrant colors and traditions of a variety of the 48 nations represented at Leigh Academy Strood.
